One funny horse.....

There are some horses who are just so beautiful.....and then there are horses that are fun. Marshall happens to be both. Today he is showing his fun side. He's in the cross ties because the farrier was resetting his front shoes. This is what he does when I give him one of my homemade horse cookies. He loves them!

This is his Mr. Ed imitation below.

Here he wants to give you all a kiss!
(Yes, he licks people like a dog does)
Marshall lives at a therapeutic riding facility where handicapped children get to groom and ride him. He loves this place and they love him too.

Little bits today....

Look at this little munchkin! This is Grace Kathryn Kahn wearing the little hoodie I knitted for her. She has a little growing to do to fit into it nicely. She was born on February 28th...her actual due date. I like a girl who shows up on time!!
Since Jen's Steelers sox are finished I decided to try the 2-At-A-Time on one circular method again before I forget how to do it. These sox are for Mark. Snowball is still hanging out here at our house. This photo is of him peeking into the front door window wondering if we intend to feed him sometime today....which we did. I had an appointment scheduled at a no kill Cat Welfare Clinic on March 12th to leave him in their care so they could find a nice family for him to live with. Mark and I were all set with a cat carrier and food to entice him into it that morning. We had to abort that plan when his claws came out from fear of the carrier and Mark twisted his back when he jerked away. I guess we now have an outdoor cat and doctor bills coming up this week for treatment for Mark's lower back.
We spent March 5th - 9th in sunny Florida with our good friends, the Hemenways. They took us to the Everglades where we had this bold pelican as a driver for our airboat. We didn't see any alligators in the waters because it wasn't quite warm enough yet, so we enjoyed the birds which also included a great blue heron and an osprey eating a fish on a tree branch.
Here's Mark Dundee holding a small alligator, named Al. His outer skin was surprisingly soft when I touched it. Al and his other buddy Al live in a cage at the rental facility for people to hold.
We always go to a restaurant named Sharky's when we visit our friends. After dinner we walked out to the end of the fishing pier and watched this guy pull in a 3 ft. hammerhead shark. Even though the shark is small, he put up quite a fight. It was my first time to see a shark caught and I think I was more excited than this fellow who was really pretty afraid of it. He had a professional fisherman who was there remove the hook and put it in his bucket.
I just love looking at beautiful blue skies and palm trees so I'm closing with this photo.
