What a perfect summer we've had.....

Besides the photo on the side of this page on the right, here's another newer photo of Luke. He's growing and changing alot.

This is how far along the lace scarf is that I knitted on the airplane in May on our way to Italy. I haven't worked on it since then. I've started making the Jeanne sweater for myself. My friend, Theresa, bought me the book for Christmas and I bought the suggested yarn for it when it was on sale in December at the Knitter's Mercantile. It's made with Debbie Bliss Donegal Tweed yarn. You know I'll post a photo of that once I have it more finished.

Here's Luke on one of our cooler evenings wearing the little Baseball Sweater I knitted him. Remember the photo I posted long ago once I had finished the sweater? It's always more fun to see it on the giftee.

I just love the temperatures we've had this summer even though it got hot a few weeks recently, but hey, it is August. I don't remember in my whole lifetime that the summer has been this great temperaturewise. So, Austin and Maya spent the week of August 10-16 with us. We went to the Kingdom of Bounce one day, swimming two days, to the Hartford Fair one day and had a picnic in the front yard under the shade tree. Those events were intermixed with some playing Wii, Legos, etc. I also had signed them up to take a class with the Children's Theatre every day for 2 hrs. The class was called Acting Funny....I think they liked it.
Here's Maya at the Hartford Fair milking a fake cow. .....and the picnic in the front yard.
Maya has Celiac Disease so we can only give her gluten-free foods. I want to let you know of this great website/blog in case any of you have to deal with this disease too. It has great recipes!

Our daughter is now Mrs. Swaggard.

Jenny before the wedding looked very cool, calm and collected!
Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Swaggard...yes we now have two B.J.s in the family and two Jennys.
Here's Luke at 8 wks. now. He enjoyed the wedding too.
Here's the little guy in the Slouchy Weekend Sweater that I knitted for him. It kept him warm and toasty on this cool evening. Can you believe how great the summer weather has been here in Ohio this year? We are experiencing some typical August weather this week. I volunteered to sew and spread the word at the Ohio State Fair about the James Stitching Sisters and how we sew for the breast cancer patients who are receiving chemo. Displayed behind the girls are some of the quilts made. I have Austin and Maya, my older grandkids here this week so I'll be posting photos of some of our adventures together next time I come to this site. Enjoy your family!
